It's always nice to come home to find a surprise package waiting for you, so last week when I came home after a shitty day at work, my day was made dramatically better by the fact that one of my favourite Scottish bands, we're only afraid of NYC, had sent me a CD of their forthcoming new singles. Sticking with their ethos of giving their music away for free, the boys new material is sounding pretty great. Having disappeared off the radar a little bit, the boys have been working away behind the scenes and if these new sons are anything to go by then they've clearly developed their sound. The band are playing at King Tuts in Glasgow on the 28th of August as part of the series of Rock n Roll Damnation gigs, with the first of their free singles going live the week before (it will be in Friday Freebies).
