All in all it's been a busy wee week on Peenko and I haven't mentioned yesterdays new 'We've got it covered' post.

News, gigs and any other gubbins......

If you weren't online yesterday, then you might have missed the furore surrounding the deletion of our good friend the Pop Cop's blog. Sad times indeed, I won't repeat myself from yesterday, Jason has created a new 'Music Alliance Pact' blog to explain what happened. Please read it and make sure you email your support, in such a close nit community we need to make sure that we are there for one another. So get emailing and do anything you can to help.

Whiskey Works launch their new mini-album with gigs at Sneaky Petes in Edinburgh on Wednesday the 19th and at `Sleazys in Glasgow the following day (the 20th).

Meanwhile in Edinburgh on Wednesdsy, Shark Batter Records are putting on a wee shindig at Voodoo Rooms, The Speakeasy. The event features videos, unplugged sets from Sarahjane Swan and Roger Simian, plus surreal standup comedy from Dawn Of The Replicants frontman, Paul Vickers. Oh and it's only £1 to get in, can't say fairer than that.

Big on Glasgow had a couple of posts which might be of interest to some of you. One's a competition to play at the Green Man Festival (which every band in Scotland seems to be tweeting about at the moment). The the other is a competition to win tickets Snow Patrol's gig at Bellahouston Park in June, Frightened Rabbit are supporting. But then you knew that already, didn't you.

Also announced this week was the ‘Charity Baw II' featuring ‘King Creosote’. Taking place on the 17th of July at The Roxy Art House in Edinburgh, the line up is a bit of a corker. Check this for a bill; King Creosote (Full Band), Ballboy, FOUND, Panda Su, Three Blind Wolves, The Sexual Objects, Over The Wall and Maple Leaves. Also, on the night he Roxy Bar will have DJ sets from On The Fly and the ‘Bang Bang Club’. Tickets are on sale now for only a tenner. Bargain.

Also, if you haven't voted for Mitchell Museum yet, get it sorted and vote now!
