Fresh Meat Monday - Andrea Marini
Would you care to introduce yourself?
My name is Andrea Marini. I am a songwriter from Glasgow. I have been writing and performing my own material for about 5 years.
How would you describe the music you make?
The music on the album is, in my opinion, arranged to be visual. It is also a record that definitely comes from a place. If I was to describe it more explicitly I’d say it is guitar led and lyrically driven.
How did you start out making music?
I felt I had something valid to say and music was the best way to say it.
What process goes into the way you write songs?
Generally, I write a song and then I collaborate with other instrumentalists to build up an arrangement that is subsequently edited to suit the needs of the song.
What can people expect from your live shows?
A sound which hopefully does justice to the record. A show with great musicianship and terrible chat to say the least.
What are you all listening to at the moment?
Cass McCombs - Catacombs Steely Dan - Aja
What can we expect to see/hear from you in 2011?
A lot more shows, some videos and a release.

Dupec
One of my favourite new bands for 2009, Dupec have uploaded all of their tunes for you to download for free, out of all of todays FF's this is the one I urge you to check out (hence the reason why it's been bumped to the top). Grab them here.

To celebrate the festive season they've put together a special sampler of free tracks taken from 2009 and some forthcoming 2010 releases. It includes tracks from Final Fantasy, Eugene McGuinness, Wild Beasts, The Kills, Franz Ferdinand and King Creosote. You can grab yourself a copy here.

Spin Magazine are giving away a compilation of 'Ones to Watch in 2010', featuring the Soft Pack, The XX and Final Fantasy, all you have to do is give them your email address here.
While I think about it seriously these are their big tips? The Soft Pack who got tipped last year, the XX who already have an album out and Final Fantasy, an already well established artist, I suppose I shouldn't grumble as they're giving away freebies, but seriously a bit more effort could have been made.

London-based Italian fellow Alessio Natalizia, a.k.a Banjo Or Freakout has made available a Christmas album, entirely for free here.
