Would you care to introduce yourself?
Snide Rhythms are Colvin Cruickshank (vocals/identity theft), Hugo De Verteuil (bass/luxury items) and Luke Cooke-Yarborough (drums/velociraptor).
We are three graduates of Edinburgh College of Art.
How would you describe the music you make?
We tend not to. We want people to listen to our album and make up their own minds. We are hoping journalists will invent new genres.
Genres always get bandied around, like for example, Art Rock since we all met at Art College but with us it's not and never will be just one style.
We have very eclectic tastes and if you take time and listen to our album as a whole you will hear that.
How did you start out making music?
We have all always been making music in some shape or form.
Luke and Hugo used to be in band called Minotaur Three with Michael Lovett who is now performing solo as Nzca/Lines.
Hugo is a gifted multi-instrumentalist. He's like the white version of Prince.
Prolific. Earlier this year he released his first solo album and is all set to press his follow up.
He also plays live with Randan Discotheque (also on Bonjour Branch) and The Pineapple Chunks.
Colvin is one half of electronic duo Vinnie & The Leph (aka Thinktank) and DJs under the name C-Biscuit.
What process goes into the way you write songs?
Colvin writes all the lyrics and brings rough ideas for Hugo and Luke to translate the rhythm parts first.
We all then practice/sketch the idea out and structure an arrangement adding synths, samples etc.
Certain songs have mutated in the studio when we recorded the album and this in turn has led us to the live versions taking on a new life.
What can people expect from your live shows?
You can expect us not to say thanks or cheers before or as the songs ends. We don't like bands that do this.
It's presumptuous. It's good manners to wait for applause...if it happens. We won't ramble on with crap banter in-between songs either.
We won't be doing the "introducing the band" bit. We just want to play music. It is a lot rawer than on the album.
We were once described as humble/arrogant when playing live.

What can we expect to see/hear from you in the future?
We have started pre-production on a video collaboration with I See Video for our next single Devil Cult Probe which will be released with new remixes, version and a brand new B-side early next year.
