Fresh Meat Monday - Lenzie Moss
Would you care to introduce yourself?
Hi - I am Lenzie Moss AKA Finlay Macdonald (I may get tired of that at some point and simply use my real name).
How would you describe the music you make?
Creamy, silky, smooth middle-of-the-road guitar pop.
How did you start out making music?
My first gig was in Lenzie public halls (I don't come from there though) under the name 'Dr Love'. We were influenced by Burt Bacharach, Garage Rock and Sister Sledge. I then went on to play in Speedboat, BMX Bandits, Teenage Fanclub, Music and Movement in that order. The rest is history.
What process goes into the way you write songs?
I like to come up with musical ideas and tunes first but the ones people like are often more lyrically led. Shows you how much I know.
What can people expect from your live shows?
To be entertained by top tunes, witty lyrics and funny banter - then we come on after that.
What are you all listening to at the moment?
New EP by Japanese artist Miette-One, it is utterly spectacular... and Donovan's 'Cosmic Wheels'.
What can we expect to see/hear from you in the future?
Playing in The Glad Cafe on Sat 27th October and then on Sun 18th November - Nice n Sleazy's supporting the lovely Ken Stringfellow (Posies, Big Star and REM).
