Would you care to introduce yourself?
Fauve Cornegrat, one half of Art Of The Memory Palace. How do you do.
How would you describe the music you make?
Throbbing vocal fog over dense slabs of Motorik drone. That, or synthesizers dying in cavernous cathedrals of reverb.
How did you start out making music?
An old transistor radio, a cassette player and an incongruous appetite for flawed frequencies.
What process goes into the way you write songs?
Long, drawn out improvisations and jams on dusty synthesizers and broken effects pedals are recorded then, generally, edited, sculpted, filtered before being put onto tape. This process is repeated.
What can people expect from your live shows?
Forty-five minutes roaming through retina-scorching processed film footage, awash with buzzing Moogs and far too much echo.
What are you all listening to at the moment?
Sun Ra: Space is the Place
Faust: Faust IV
Conrad Schnitzler: Gelb
FC Judd: Electronics Without Tears
Blanck Mass: Sifted Gold
Pye Corner Audio: The Black Mill tapes
Belbury Poly: The Belbury Tales
What can we expect to see/hear from you in the future?
A record is written. A plan is afoot.
