A reason to visit Stirling!

Yes there really exists one. ;)

In the past three years or so since I have been at university in Stirling the music scene has changed and grown a lot. Not only are there a lot of bands now coming out of the area but we are also getting good acts into the city as well. We have even managed to get those very successful Frightened Rabbits back (last time they were here was April '08 on the Midnight Organ Fight tour).

But the gig I want to talk about features Stirling Universities Student Radio station, Air3, going up against the Stirling Tolbooth's own monthly alternate music night, ReLoaded. Air3 not only run the radio station but also put on Transmission in the Union every Thursday night during term time and they have had some rocking bands this semester whilst ReLoaded have brought acts like The Twilight Sad and The Cinematics to the fair city. On December 3rd on ReLoaded's home turf, the Tolbooth, they shall both be putting on a grand lineup of acts as they battle it out to crown the best promoter.

Air3 is bringing along The Darien Venture, Jocasta Sleeps and Mitchell Museum. ReLoaded counters with the best of Stirling bands in the form of Miniature Dinosaurs, Jack Butler and The Leads.

That's 6 great acts. For a poultry £6. £1 an act. The fun starts at 7pm and goes late into the night with a DJ battle following the band showcase.

So take a wee trip and come to Stirling for a great night of music.
