Urusei Yatsura were an excellent Glasgow based Lo-Fi band that were about in the 1990's, they were heavily influenced by bands like Pavement, Velvet Underground, Pixies and Sonic Youth. They released three albums in total, We Are Urusei Yatsura (1996), Slain by Urusei Yatsura (1998) and Everybody Loves Urusei Yatsura (2000) before finally calling it a day in 2001.
The band name came from a Japanese comic, and roughly translates as "those pesky female androids" useless fact I know, but I felt I had to share. Three of the four members are now in Projekt A-Ko who released their debut album earlier this year.

If anyone disrespects the mighty Yatsura in my prescence I'll never listen to anything they say again.
ReplyDeleteThe Projekt A-Ko album is pretty fab too.
